Our cast iron items need regular care and maintenance – here we discus that all important topic of regular maintanance and seasoning.

Fixing Issues:

A Fishy Pan:

Sometimes fish can leave a residue (oils) that leave a stinky odor. These are trialkylamines and oxidized fatty acids. The trialkylamines will burn off at 200 to 250 degrees, while the fatty acids will vaporize at temps over 350. Just put your skillet in the oven at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes, and let it cool down on it’s own.
